Contain object declarations, variables, constants, and functions that can be accessed by .ASP pages; often named "Global.asa" and accessed by multiple pages with in an ASP-based website; allows several pages to access the same functions and variables so they do not have to be rewritten for each page.
ASA files can be manually created and edited or may be created automatically by a Web development program, such as Microsoft's ASP.NET; the Global.asa file must be stored in the root directory of the ASP application in order for other files to access it. |
